THE WHO AT KNEBWORTH CONCERT REVIEW

By the time we got to Hedgestock it was 3998 people full.
The time was 7 pm. We walked straight to the barrier in front of the stage, guess all the rich are too pompous to stand next to a piece of black steel mesh (Its not diamond encrusted ?) We took our favorite place-just between Rogers + Petes mic stands.
We where joined by just 2 other all time Who fans-Matthew and his friend (Sorry I forgot your name).
The Who came on stage approx 8.35pm. Pete was wearing his white tee shirt and shades,Roger was wearing his white cotton shirt with little blue flowers and his blue specs to match.
They came out in good form and seemed happy enough,we didn't see the rest of the band as the stage was at least 12ft. high.

Rabbit was directly behind Pete at this gig,Pete only jumped once during substitute he used his usual red, gold guitars.
At the beginning of My Generation (we missed that one off the set list sorry) Pino was playing God only knows and was totally out of it and Roger said "what the F@@k was that" but we had a great giggle + Pete put Pino back into the right notes.
There wasn't much banter or stage announcements Roger thanked Pete for doing the gig for the T.C.C.
Roger also said that their going to play obscure songs on their world tour,Pete corrected Rog and said "no" The tunes will be rarities (rare) songs.
He said they where going to play complete versions of Tommy +Quad at some shows and where looking forward too it.
Gary did his usual classic original saying "GET ON WITH IT" at the start of the band Intro and Pete just shook his head (as if too say it's just the first gig) and after the into for Zak said "he has been playing with Oasis and boring the world with there music.
As for Rogers vocals it held up together well for a man of 61.
But please do remember it was the first gig for years, lastly as for a Who gig it was just okay, but as a dress rehearsal it was great.
Nice to have them back on stage.

It is now 36 years for me 1970 and 35 years for Gary watching the Who on a live stage.
